So what needs considering for a baby shower?
Who organizes the baby shower? Friends or family are the usual suspects – it’s often easier if a few of you join forces to organize – makes it more fun too!
When is the best time to hold the shower? The most common time is in the third trimester.
Who do you invite? If the baby shower is not a secret then you can ask the mum-to-be, otherwise you can ask her who she would like to be there. If you are keeping it a secret then ask her partner and family for suggestions. It is becoming more common for dad’s to be involved these days too rather than the traditional girls-only policy. If you are compiling the list – think of the mum-to-be’s friends, work friends, antenatal or other pregnant friends.
Location – Often showers are held at one of the family members or friends homes, but you can also do it at a local hall, health clubs, spas, or anywhere else you think might be appropriate.
Money – Baby Showers can become expensive with food, decorations, invitations and more so most people share the cost between all the guests
Theme? A lot of people like to theme their showers, with many using themes that are close to mum-to-be. Is she sporty? Does she have a hobby? Has she got a favourite book?
Presents? Avoid overlap in baby shower presents by making a list for people to choose from.
Food – If you ask everyone in the party to bring one plate of food then you will have more than enough – make sure all the food is ‘pregnant friendy’ –

Games – It can be fun to play some party games at the baby shower.
Party bags – give party goers something to remember the special day by – a little candle, bake some cakes, or give them something pampering like bubble bath or a nail varnish.
